The Project is part of collaboration work with IIIT Bangalore, GVCL lab, EHRC and IBM India. This project is into building visual analytics tools and techniques for understanding the raw data of National Family Health Survey, namely NFHS-4, dataset. NFHS-4 data describes the health indicators of all of India in a snapshot of time, in 2015-16. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoH&FW) of the Government of India (GoI) and the World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office for India (WCO) have jointly published the Country Cooperation Strategy (CCS) in 2017, where two of the important challenges are on “the unfinished agenda of health system modernization” and “the need for expediting progress in achieving Millennium Development Goals (MDG) 4 and 5”, which pertain to child health, undernutrition, and gender equity. Our focus has been to perform spatial analysis of triple burden of malnutrition, including the degree of occurrence. The expected outcome is a visual analytics tool to explore different sections of the data available in NFHS-4, which upon generalization can be used for future editions of NFHS.
